Fence Restoration
What is Fence Restoration?
Fence restoration is a process that refurbishes an old fence to its original brilliance. Usually, the process involves pressure washing and staining. If the fence is heavily damaged, it may need to be repaired first. While several types of fences require different methods, Decksteriors specializes in restoring wood fences.
Benefits of Fence Restoration
We believe in restoring, not rebuilding. Much like a beautiful frame can draw the eyes to, and showcase a work of art, your wood fence should frame your property and enhance the beauty and value of your home. Let DECKSTERIORS make your home the envy of the neighborhood with our Fence Restoration services.
Time Cost
Installing a fence can take weeks. First, the old fence must be removed. Then new post holes need to be dug, and lumber ordered. Measurements must be made, too. Finally, the new fence needs to be built, finished, and stained or painted. Our process, however, skips the building and simply restores your fence to its natural beauty. Just because a fence is ugly doesn’t mean it should be torn down. It just needs to be cleaned up.
3 Step Fence Pressure Washing & Staining
Step 1: Pressure Washing
DECKSTERIORS uses even passes following the grain of each fence board with 1,500 – 2,000 psi forced water generated from commercial pressure washers to remove old finish, grey oxidized dead wood cells, and unsightly water marks left by sprinklers, to reveal the healthy cedar beneath.
Step 2: Apply Brightener and Conditioner
After the fence has been completely pressure washed clean of the old finish and oxidized grey outer layer, we apply wood brightener and conditioner. Bio-degradable brightener returns the pH level of the lumber to balance and will yield the appearance of a newly installed fence. The conditioner helps open the wood grain pores to best receive oil based semi-transparent stain.
Step 3: Apply Oil Based Semi-Transparent Sealer
We apply the highest rated oil based stains through a combination of commercial airless sprayers and staining pads. We utilize a combination of tarps and plastics to protect your siding, plants, patio furniture and surrounding area. With multiple colors to choose from, DECKSTERIORS will work with you to determine the finish that’s right for you.
